The Terms of Work defines the responsibilities of both parties.
I make it clear from the onset that we are all human, and mistakes are made both by professionals and clients alike. I like to foster a friendly atmosphere where if mistakes are made they can be suitably corrected and a working relationship maintained and strengthened.
My Responsibilities:
Once commissioned, my role is to translate a client’s outline into a professional website suitable for use.
I work to the best standards, and try to deliver client work as soon as possible, but if for any reason I fail in this, this will be communicated at earliest opportunity.
I will produce the designs in an orderly and timely manner so as to not hinder projects of the client.
My role in the project of the client changes after the first month. In the first month I am accessible to each client on a "as and when" I am available schedule (within reason of course), as during this set up time many changes need to be made.
After the first month access is reduced to mainly email, and video mail, with 6 hours a Week Skype if needed. I will still work to fix any issues as quickly and professionally as possible. Where a fix for a site is not what was planned, communication will be made of the alternatives and ways to fix said issues.
Client Responsibilities:
The client responsibility is to check all aspects of the work before it is begun and to specify clearly what is wanted from the outset. I may have suggestions for the work, that might improve it, but there is no obligation nor feelings hurt, nor liability taken if you do not take up the advice.
Upon a fair and timely completion of the work in the first month, the client will have the afore mentioned access, and able to make changes and adapt the site as they see fit.
Work load:
I am - for the time being - a one man crew. I work on a “first come first served” basis, and line up work accordingly using a booking system. Upon first contact with a client the timetable will be discussed - via Skype or email.
Communication:
As mentioned: Skype is a favored communication medium, and whilst not essential, it is recommended that each client have a skype account to communicate with DansWeb.
A contract is to be signed at the start of all work upon approval of prototype work.
